Donelson, or "Hip Donelson" as it's affectionately known, is one of Nashville's most popular suburbs. Located a few miles north of the Nashville International Airport and 10 miles east of downtown, this welcoming community has become popular for its proximity to the city, suburban feel, and many amenities.
One of Donelson’s major attractions is the Music City Star, a commuter rail service that connects downtown Nashville with local communities, allowing Donelson residents access to downtown with a 10 to 15 minutes train ride.
This area also boasts a bounty of natural recreation – Stones River, Percy Priest Lake, and greenways are all nearby. It is also home to one of the region's largest community farmers markets.
To the immediate east of Donelson, you'll find Hermitage, a popular Nashville borough named after the historic home of Andrew Jackson. Residents enjoy a friendly community packed with shops and amenities.
Hermitage is also home to Long Hunter State Park, a 2,600-acre park with bountiful recreational activities, when the weather is warm, explore the Nashville Shores – a waterpark, adventure course, and campground.
