Donelson, or "Hip Donelson" as it's affectionately known, is one of Nashville's most popular suburbs. Located a few miles north of Nashville International Airport and 10 miles east of downtown, this welcoming community has become popular for its proximity to the city, its suburban feel, and its many amenities. Anyone in search of a welcoming community with plenty to do will find this area appealing.

One of the major perks of living in Donelson is the Music City Star, a commuter rail service that connects downtown Nashville with local communities. It isn't difficult to hop on the train and get downtown within 10 to 15 minutes. Of course, this area also boasts proximity to a bounty of natural recreation – Stones River, Percy Priest Lake and greenways are all nearby. It's also home to one of the region's largest community farmers markets, and you'll find local folks in the area's music venues and sports bars.

To the immediate east of Donelson, you'll find Hermitage, a Nashville borough. This neighborhood is named after The Hermitage, the historic home of Andrew Jackson (which you can take a tour of). There you'll also find a friendly community packed with amenities, including the convenient Music City Star and a selection of retail shops.

Hermitage is also home to Long Hunter State Park, a 2,600-acre park with lots of recreational activities to choose from. And when the weather is warm enjoy a trip to Nashville Shores – a waterpark, adventure course and campground.

Like the rest of Nashville, the Donelson-Hermitage area has developed greatly over the past several years. Prospective homebuyers will find a variety of living options, including ranch homes, starter homes, condos, and apartments.
